We sang in the garment factories of New York and textile mills in Massachusetts, carried signs that read bread and roses&nbsp;&mdash; demanding not just wages but dignity, recognition, a life worth living. We sang in Chile against the generals and for the disappeared. In Indonesia, women of Gerwani organized and were then erased, their histories buried under dictatorship. We sang too, even when the silence was forced upon us. The collective voice has always been one of the oldest tools of the dispossessed. On May 3rd, that lineage lives again. Sing in Solidarity, the choir of the NYC DSA, invites you into an evening of music drawn from the deep well of socialist feminist struggle &mdash; songs born in strike kitchens and suffragette halls, in anti-war movements and women&#39;s liberation circles, passed hand to hand across oceans and decades by people who understood that solidarity is not a slogan. It is a practice. It is a sound. These are songs that held people together when the cold was real and the cause felt impossible. Songs written by women who were told to be quiet, and sang anyway. Songs that traveled across borders in the mouths of those who had nothing else to carry. Come to the Church of the Village and let them carry you, too on May 3, 2026.
