Our foundation was created to honor the life of Nate Ljungberg, a 19-year-old from East Aurora who tragically lost his battle with Ewing&rsquo;s Sarcoma in September 2020. Nate was known throughout the community for his love of sports&mdash;especially lacrosse, hockey, and football&mdash;and for the strong friendships he built along the way. Following his passing, our community came together to support causes that help families facing pediatric cancer and to ensure Nate&rsquo;s legacy continues to make a positive impact. What began as a small walkathon fundraiser supporting the East Aurora lacrosse community has grown into a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation that now provides meaningful donations to organizations supporting pediatric cancer treatment, research, and families in need. This year&rsquo;s event will take place on Saturday, May 16 from 11:00 AM &ndash; 4:00 PM and will include:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">A 2.8-mile community walk at Parkdale Elementary&bull; A Chicken BBQ fundraiser</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">A craft vendor market featuring 40&ndash;50 local vendors</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">A basket raffle with 30&ndash;40 donated prizes from local businesses</li></ul>Last year we sold 350 chicken dinners and had an outstanding turnout despite a rainstorm. With good weather we expect close to 1,500 community members throughout the day. We promote the event widely throughout Buffalo and East Aurora with road signs, flyers in more than 25 businesses and local schools, door-to-door advertising, social media promotion, announcements on local radio, and coverage in local publications including Kiss 98.5, The Buffalo News and the East Aurora Bee. To continue growing this event and supporting families impacted by pediatric cancer, we are seeking local business sponsors. Sponsorship opportunities range from $100 Community Sponsors to $500 Gold Sponsors, each offering recognition through event signage, social media promotion, announcements at the event, and logo placement on our walkathon shirts and sponsor banner depending on the level of support.
