The 270 Jazz Orchestra's debut Concert is finally here and we want you to be there! The 270 Jazz Orchestra is a local student-run Jazz ensemble. The band is made up of student musicians from various different school districts across the state of Maryland, many of which participated in All-State and All-County ensembles. The band's co-founders/leaders, Dan Huang and Kalman Levitin, are both students in Montgomery County. Huang and Levitin arranged and composed all of the music in the program. In this last year, Levitin won the MCPS Outstanding Jazz Soloist Award, MCPS Jazz Soloist Award, and a Gerry Mulligan Jazz Challenge Honorable Mention. Additionally Levitin played in Paul Carr's Jazz Academy Orchestra and MCPS All-County Senior Honors Jazz Ensemble. Huang also played in the MCPS Senior Honors Jazz Ensemble in addition to the Maryland All State Senior Jazz Band. Huang also received an Essentially Ellington Outstanding Soloist Awards at Shenandoah University.
