Join us at The Dayton Woman's Club to learn about the fascinating life of Hallie Quinn Brown!


Celebrate Black History Month and hear Dr. Amy Hobbs Harris discuss Hallie Quinn Brown, an educator and elocutionist who pioneered the movement for African American women’s clubs. A graduate of Wilberforce University, she lectured widely on the cause of temperance, women's suffrage, and civil rights. She helped found the Colored Women’s League in Washington, D.C., which became the National Association of Colored Women and adopted the motto, “Lifting as We Climb.”
