Welcome to our 2026 CA Family Camp!&nbsp; This week is for the entire family, all ages welcome! Youth 4 years and younger are with parents, ages 5-7-will have morning and shorter afternoon sessions, youth ages 8-12 will be together and teen aged 13-17 will be on separate adventures. Everyone comes together for meals, councils, campfires, and ceremonies. The main focus is learning wilderness survival skills, the sacred order of Shelter, Water, Fire, Food. This year we are going to the beautiful Tahoe National Forest. The campground is located on the North Fork American River, at the north end of the French Meadows Reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest. It is 40 miles from the town of Foresthill. Visitors enjoy the area for its fishing, boating and trail opportunities. A coniferous forest covers the area. At an elevation of 5200 feet, summertime temperatures are warm in the day and cool at night. We are excited to have two incredibly skilled Guest Instructors:Jahnia and Matthew are from Chico, CA, where they have been running their own Wilderness Awareness School, Earthbound Skills, since 2013. &nbsp;They are long-time tracker students themselves, and lived at the Tracker School for a year as caretakers back in 2010-2011. &nbsp; After their time at the Tracker School, Matthew and Jahnia were deeply inspired to continue on the teachings of Tom Brown and Stalking Wolf. &nbsp;Earthbound Skills runs homeschool programs Monday-Friday in Chico for ages 5-15, many of whom have become long-term students who attend year after year. They also run summer camps in the Chico area. They have both worked with 4EEE in the past and are very excited to be joining us for this summer&#39;s Family Camp and Wilderness Passage Camp. The North Fork American River provides fishing and swimming. The reservoir can be accessed nearby. Popular activities include boating, canoeing, fishing and swimming. A variety of hiking trails are found in the surrounding area, including some that provide access to the nearby Granite Chief Wilderness, which provides amazing hiking opportunities for an adventurous party to explore historic aspen trees and secluded mountain passes and trails.&nbsp; The site is very Primitive with only pit toilets and there is potable water. There are options in the afternoon to spend time on the lake or wander around on the nearby trails, welcome to bring floatation devices, paddle boards, kayaks etc. We offer sliding scale pricing, subsidized by donations from supporters of our mission.
