Acknowledging the privilege of being a cis-white male, he opens a dialogue on claiming one's cultural identity, drawing inspiration from his grandmother's experiences as a Japanese woman in 1960s Ohio.
About the artist:
Miles Cramer has been working in the tea industry since 2009. In his work, he has traveled to tea gardens throughout East Asia and learned first-hand from tea masters about cultivation, production, and tea culture. teaches educational tea workshops and tea meditations throughout the southeast, introducing people to the deep heritage and joy of drinking high-quality tea through his company Smiles Tea. He has also worked with Dobra Tea for 13 years managing the Asheville teahouses.
