Join us in celebrating the powerful work of Black Image Center&#39;s 2025 California Coast in Color artist residency cohort. Over the past several weeks, these 11 emerging Black photographers have explored the intersection of the California coast and environmental justice&mdash;using their lenses to reclaim coastal space, history, and belonging. In this culminating showcase, each artist will present a final campaign of 3&ndash;5 original images connected by a unifying concept and grounded in real-world policy, history, or environmental movement. These visual campaigns speak to the urgency of climate storytelling and Black presence along California&rsquo;s coastline. The day&#39;s events will feature<ul data-end="1277" data-start="1020" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li data-end="1061" data-start="1020" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">A curated photo series by each artist</li><li data-end="1121" data-start="1062" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Panel discussions at 2:30pm and 3:30pm allowing artists to share the story behind their work</li><li data-end="1277" data-start="1193" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Conversations around environmental access, displacement, memory, and imagination</li></ul>This event is a celebration of art as a way to bring about more justice in our communities.
