Will we receive the fun patches at the event?Originally that was the plan. However, since we are keeping registration open, we will order the correct number of patches after the event. We will get your fun patches to you about 2 weeks after the event. If you are in Ellicott City, we will give them to your troop leader at the next Service Unit 654 Meeting. If you are outside of Ellicott City, we will coordinate getting the fun patches to you. Will Girl Scout Troops need to turn in permission slips? We will not be collecting permission slips. Troop leaders will be responsible for collecting permission slips and Health History Forms for their troop. Can we bring camp chairs?Only adults can bring camp chairs. All girls scouts should have a sit-upon or towel to sit on. Please be aware that all camp chairs will need to be set up behind where the girls are sitting on their sit-upons. Are there bathrooms? The farm itself does not have bathrooms. We are setting up primitive camp toilets and hand washing stations. The toilets are portable camp toilets in a privacy tent. They will be monitored throughout the night and cleaned as needed. What is the menu?S’mores (marshmallow, chocolate, graham crakers)Hot chocolate. What if I have food allergies or other food restrictions? Please contact us at gscmtroop1198@gmail.com, with the Subject Line “Campfire Sing-Along - Food Allergies”. You may need to bring a substitute ingredient. Chaperones were free - Can they have s’more or hot chocolate? We will have extra hot chocolate for sale for the adults (for a donation). We will accept cash, paypal, or venmo. We will likely only purchase enough s’more ingredients for the registered girls. Since the event is close to dinner time, can we bring additional food?Because we have a packed agenda, ideally, participants should eat dinner before the event. Then they can enjoy dessert at the campfire. If you choose to bring dinner or extra food, you will need to pack out all your trash. Any guidance on what type of skit to prepare or the length of the skit? Guidelines:

Skits should be about 3-5 minutes maximum.

Topics should be appropriate / family friendly. (Silly or funny are best!)

Be kind - Nothing mean.

No scary topics or scary stories.

Topic Ideas:

Girls can make up their own skits on any topic. For example: acting out a favorite joke, cartoon scene, or fairy tale.

If they are working on a badge or take action project, sometimes girls like to educate their audience about their cause. One year my girls did a skit on Leave no Trace.

Acting out the Girl Scout Promise or Law (or a line from the law) is fun for younger scouts.

A favorite song from school. Another year my girls wanted to sing a song they all learned in chores for their skit.

There are also some Traditional Skits. You can Google “Traditional Girl Scout Skits” for fun ideas.

What if my group did not prepare a skit ahead of time?At check-in, we will have you pick from a list of short Traditional Skits. Groups will have about 10-15 minutes to prep. What if I am coming as an individual and not with a troop? How do I do a skit? You have a few options:

Do an individual skit.

Come with a favorite joke to share.

If you want, we can combine individually registered scouts to work on a skit together. Keep in mind groups will only have about 10-15 minutes to prep their skits.

Other Questions? Send questions to gscmtroop1198@gmail.com Thank you for your support!
