While there are no guarantees in nature, the group will walk up to 1/2 mile with their Ranger and hope to observe a Loggerhead Sea Turtle laying her nest and returning to the ocean. &nbsp;The evening concludes by helping to mark the nest for research purposes. &nbsp;Participants will choose a name for the Turtle. &nbsp; Participants meet their Ranger at a Visitor Center and caravan by private vehicle to a parking lot near the beach.&nbsp; If you have questions or are not going to make it, please call the Visitor center&nbsp; at 386-428-3384. We limit the size of each group to 40 participants, age 8 and up, and we ask parents to ensure this activity is suitable for their children to limit noise and avoid disturbing the turtles and other participants. &nbsp;Because the group size is limited, the only refunds that will be issued is in a situation when the tour is cancelled due to weather or an unsafe beach situation. &nbsp; Note: This tour is not ADA Compliant. &nbsp;Participants must be able to walk 1/2 mile on soft sand.

Friends of Canaveral and Canaveral National Seashore is pleased to have you as our guest and we will do everything possible to make the experience enjoyable and memorable. &nbsp; A few reminders: &nbsp;The Turtle Watch Tour starts promptly at 8 PM so we need for you to be there and ready to go by 7:45 PM. &nbsp;The program normally ends at midnight. &nbsp;Of course, wildlife is unpredictable, and while we hope the guest of honor - a Sea Turtle - will decide to join us, that is not guaranteed. &nbsp;Our Park Ranger will do everything possible to make the experience enjoyable either way, and if we are unable to find a nesting turtle by 11 PM, we end the experience at that time. &nbsp;No refunds are given, and your ticket is only good on the date and for the location reserved. &nbsp;We do refund the ticket price if we must cancel the tour for your safety or circumstances beyond our control before the tour starts. &nbsp;If we have to cancel the tour part way in, there are no refunds. &nbsp; You will be outside and must be capable of walking 1/2 mile on soft sand. &nbsp;Dress appropriately in light weight long=sleeved and long-legged clothing and bring bug spray. &nbsp;Seriously. &nbsp;No see-ums are tiny, but they are all teeth! &nbsp;As always, bring enough drinking water to stay hydrated for 4 hours. &nbsp;You must arrive in a personal vehicle which you will then drive as part of a caravan to the turtle watch location selected by your guide. &nbsp;That means an Uber/Lyft or taxi won&#39;t work for this tour. &nbsp;All participants will need to depart together and must remain with the group until the end of the viewing session. &nbsp; Specific Instructions:1. &nbsp;Drive to the Apollo Beach Entrance Station: 7611 S. Atlantic Ave, New Smyrna Beach FL 32169. &nbsp;You MUST arrive before 7:45 PM or you will miss the tour. &nbsp;If there is an attendant at the station, let them know you are there for the Turtle Watch program and show your ticket. &nbsp;Your ticket includes your admission to the Park. 2. &nbsp;Drive 1 mile south to the Apollo Beach Visitor Center and park in the visitor center loop, directly behind the last parked car. 3. &nbsp;The Program begins at the Visitor Center promptly at 8:00 PM. &nbsp;It&#39;s a combination of engaging discussion, demonstration, and viewing materials. &nbsp;Our highest priority is to show you an actual nesting sea turtle, but the turtles are in full control of that so we can&#39;t guarantee that will happen. 4. &nbsp;As mentioned above, there is no opportunity to leave the group to get water or leave the park. &nbsp;Bring your filled water bottle and any snacks you might need. &nbsp; 5. &nbsp;Even though this is Florida in the summer, sometimes it does cool down. &nbsp;Bring a sweatshirt in case you need it. 6. &nbsp;No Flashlights or camera flashes are allowed. &nbsp;Cell phones must be turned off during the program, and you will not be permitted to take photos - please do not even ask. &nbsp;Our first concern is for the well-being of the turtle, and light will generally prevent the turtle from nesting. &nbsp;&nbsp; 7. &nbsp;The fine print: &nbsp;We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any program for resource and visitor protection. &nbsp;If for any reason you need to cancel, even though there are no refunds, please be considerate and let us know as soon as possible so someone else will have the opportunity to participate.
