A four-week JLI course with YJP Atlanta. Join us for four Tuesday evenings this November — November 3, 10, 17 & 24, 7:00–9:00 PM — as we open the little-known world of rabbinic responsa: the vast archive of real-life questions of ethics and practice Jews asked across history, and the scholarly answers rabbis wrote back. Algiers is under siege: may I pray in a bathhouse? The Inquisition is watching: how will I celebrate Passover? Seventeen Jews held hostage after a blood libel: must I help pay their ransom? See what enables Jewish tradition to offer relevant guidance in a rapidly changing world — and come face-to-face with raw Jewish history. No background needed: if you don't know what a 'rabbinic responsa' is, you'll fit right in. Taught by Rabbi Leivy. Dinner, course materials, and parking included. Sponsored pricing: full course marked down from $180 to $54; single classes marked down from $54 to $18. Drop-ins welcome. This JLI course satisfies continuing-education (CLE) requirements for lawyers and other legal professionals.
