Security Deposit – A $500 Security Deposit is required at the time of booking, simultaneous with completion of the Facility Use Agreement (Contract). Tentative reservations will not be guaranteed until payment of Security Deposit is received. The Security Deposit of $500 may be made only by separate check or credit card (via this payment page) and must be received at least 90 days prior to the scheduled Event. In exceptional circumstances, bookings may be allowed within 90 days of Event with the express written permission from the Coordinator. After Event’s conclusion and once the facility is inspected by SMPS staff, the Security Deposit will be refunded in full unless there has been damage to the facility or property of SMPS, or noncompliance with the Keypad Lock Policy. See schedule of example deposit holds below. User agrees that SMPS may retain Security Deposit in accordance with policies listed herein or deduct the cost of infractions from the Security Deposit. Infractions include, but are not limited to, nail or screw holes, tape, spilt candle wax, trash on premises, broken windows, or damaged floors, walls, or furniture. Examples of such claims and amounts listed below. All Security Deposit claims are subject to the discretion of the Coordinator and Board of Directors. Additional fees and damages will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
- SMPS chairs moved outside or between buildings – $100
- Chairs, furniture, or other objects stored blocking doorways – $50
- Broken furniture or damage to buildings – $400-500
- Food or other foreign objects lodged or poured down sinks – $300-500
- Glitter left behind after event – $50-100
- Any use of open flame – $500
- Tape used on or holes created in floors or walls – $200-500
- Missing furniture, items, or pieces (e.g. easel pegs, refrigerator drawers, etc.) – $300-500
- Departing premises before scheduled Event conclusion without locking buildings or notifying SMPS staff of early departure (See Keypad Lock Policy) – $50
