Join Rabbi Malka Drucker for “Ageing into Sageing,” a Contemporary Conversations in Jewish Thought (CCiJT) program exploring how to access the secrets of a long life. The reward is wisdom, serenity, and deeper self-knowledge. Ageing into Sageing is the great spiritual adventure that can only be experienced when you’ve lived long enough. Based upon the pioneering work of Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, Rabbi Drucker's book, Embracing Wisdom: Soaring into the Second Half of Life, is a handbook that sets a path for the boomer generation to complete life successfully and leave a legacy for future generations. This conversation-based session welcomes adults of all ages. Your presence supports our Santa Ynez Valley Jewish Community’s commitment to lifelong Jewish learning and thoughtful engagement with contemporary life. Rabbi Malka Drucker has written 23 books for young people and adults, including Frida Kahlo (Bantam Books), a Hungry Mind winner and NYT Pick of the Lists. She has also written Grandma’s Latkes (Harcourt Brace), Jacob’s Rescue (Bantam Books), Rescuers: Portraits of Moral Courage in the Holocaust (Holmes and Meier), and White Fire: A Portrait of Women Spiritual Leaders in America (SkyLight Paths), a PEN award winner. Her most recent book, written with Rabbi Nadya Gross, Embracing Wisdom: Soaring in the Second Half of Life (Albion Andalus), is an important component in workshops about aging wisely.
