Come Stay With Us! At Emberlight, we rent our first and second floor bedrooms to guests. We have 3 comfortable, convenient, and private rooms with ensuite baths available on-site. We rent to family and friends who have loved ones here in our care, to guests attending one of our in-house workshops and to visitors who want to explore Asheville and the surrounding area. 100% of the proceeds from our on-site room rentals supports and finances the mission and vision of Emberlight. The Magnolia Room at The Sanctuary property is the first room at the top of the large, curling staircase in the main Sanctuary home. Overlooking a peaceful meadow with a horse and donkey, it has a private bath. The Dogwood Room at The Sanctuary overlooks blue ridge vistas and our giant grandmother oak. This is a lovely room with a private bath and a queen bed. The Mount Laurel Room at The Sanctuary is a spacious primary suite on the main floor. From your king bed, enjoy gorgeous views, large private bathroom with hot tub & walk-in shower. You can also view full details about our property and amenities here. HOW TO KNOW YOU ARE THE RIGHT GUEST for Emberlight: Center for Conscious Living & Dying Emberlight: Center for Conscious Living and Dying is a community-based end-of-life center run by a few staff and 200 active volunteers. The mission for the center is to create a community that embodies living a meaningful life through inner exploration and growth, service, and community-supported end-of-life care and our global mission is to bring awareness of the community deathcare movement to as many people as possible. We offer our end-of-life services free of charge and so we are dependent on pay-it-forward donations and individual and foundation support to cover our operating expenses for this spiritual work. You know you’re the right guest to stay with us if : *You feel called to support our work by staying with us *You are a friend or family member of one of our residents *You are intrigued by what it looks like to fully embrace living and dying at the same time *You are attending one of our workshops or doula training and want to immerse yourself fully in the community *You have experienced grief in your life and welcome a community that is comfortable with expressed grief and frank conversations about loss If none of these apply to you, and you are still reading and intrigued, here are some of the things you should know about staying with us: *We believe and practice living and dying in community. *All of the property, other than your room, is a multi-use space. *We have a 10 pm- 10 am quiet time. *There is limited private indoor space for a solitary, quiet retreat, but you have full access to 6 acres of outdoor space. *There are sometimes multiple activities going on at once including meetings, people working on computers, cooking, others lounging, and volunteers working both in and outside the house. You may encounter: a resident or their family members sitting inside or outside, someone sitting out on the front porch or back deck with kleenex in hand, grieving the life of a loved one, a home funeral with a body lying in honor in our private parlor, someone on the swing outside, or children playing, someone playing the piano or a group singing on the porch, a bear lumbering through the backyard, deer grazing, or hawks nesting, or even a completely quiet house with you as the only one there! Many guests experience a calm peacefulness just driving down the half mile, tree lined entrance to this beautiful property. This is a place you can find solace and connection. You arrive as guests and may leave as friends. We welcome all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, creed, religion, national origin, ethnicity, physical disability or sexual orientation. Your suite and bathroom are private to you. You will share the common areas: the large stocked kitchen, living room, dining room, library, front porch, and back deck. There are several acres of property that you can explore at your leisure
