Nelson's Port-a-Pit Chicken will be here at Faith on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., selling chicken and potatoes to raise funds for Swaddling Clothes. Prices are $10.00 each for a roasted half-chicken, and $4.00 for a cup of roasted Pit-tatoes.

Tickets can be purchased ahead of time to guarantee your food. The last day for pre-sales is Thursday, May 16th However, food must be picked up prior to 1:30 p.m. on May 18, 2024 or they will be resold as available.

Swaddling Clothes is a mercy ministry of Faith Lutheran Church in DeMotte for families in need. We maintain a collection of items for young families, including new and gently used clothing, shoes, diapers, wipes, shampoos, lotions, and anything else that parents need to care for little ones up to 5T. We rely entirely on donations, collecting, cleaning, sorting, and preparing everything for monthly shopping days that are free and open to the public to come and take what they need. We have no income, citizenship, or geographical requirements, only that participants share a bit of information about their family and their needs. We ask that families in turn bring any items they're done with to us so that we can share them with others. Beyond that, we develop partnerships with other organizations supporting young families or addressing poverty and homelessness to connect families with additional support.

Funds raised go to supplement our donations to ensure that we have enough stock available each month to support the families who come to us, as well as maintain the ongoing operation of the ministry.
