EQUINES PEOPLE HORSEMANSHIP COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP Introducing the partnership between Martin Faith's Percherons and Serenity Horse Rescue Inc at a 2024 GRAND OPENING GALA! Noon to 5pm on June 29th, 2024.  Tickets include lunch and are $10. Interested in bettering our community? Interested in horses? If you answered yes to either question then this event is for YOU! We will have tours, demonstrations, horsemanship information for anyone interested in equines, and a health and wellness discussion. Please RSVP by June 15th.  Please purchase your tickets by the 15th of June. We have limited spaces! Proceeds will be helping our rescue horses and facilities. All Ticket purchases and donations are tax deductible!Serenity Horse Rescue Inc began in January of 2021, Wendy Quaas, a long-time horse lover and rider started the rescue. Her goal for the 501(c)3 non-profit is to rescue as many horses from slaughter or abandonment as possible. Serenity rehabilitates the horses and then uses them for therapy or adopts them out to great homes! So far, the rescue has saved the lives of 83 horses. Serenity Horse Rescue offers free horse time to veterans and their families and supports diversity and inclusion within and around the community.Most horses are either privately surrendered, or they are rescued from auction. Many of the horses come to the rescue either emaciated or abused by past owners and other experiences. In 2023 Serenity Horse Rescue partnered with Martin Faith’s Percherons located at 9145 Smythe School Road, Beloit, WI. Located on 28 gorgeous acres of land. On the property you will see ponies, goats and sheep as well as the beautiful Percherons. Their farm started with Sheilarae and a lot of Faith. Faith being a draft horse, Sheilarae met at Boone County fairgrounds. Their mission of bringing the love of horses to everyone and sharing their little slice of paradise. When Curt and Sheilarae purchased their property, it only had a small barn on site and a concrete slab previously used as a feed lot. Curt hand built and crafted their over 3,000+ square foot barn. Behind that went up their 70x 136-foot indoor arena. Sheilarae provides riding lessons for those of any age and skill level. She also provides horse training. They also offer boarding and for a fee you can also take family portraits on the farm.Not only is Serenity Horse Rescue a horse rescue, but it can also save humans as well. Wendy became PATH International Certified. Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL) is a voluntary credential for individuals in the equine assisted learning (EAL) profession who provide horsemanship instructions and therapeutic value to people with disabilities. Serenity offers mental health assistance through Equine Therapy. You can visit a horse, all ages welcome. Come say hello to a horse and experience the serenity of being around horses. Take a tour, introduce yourself to equine therapy and humane education, and learn to lead a horse. Serenity focuses on invisible disabilities and mental health for those with bi-polar, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, PTSD and general stress. Need a break from the office life? Come visit us at the gorgeous Martin Faith’s Percherons Farm!Horse Assisted Life Coaching is also available. This is a step further than the visit program. Life coaching with a horse is a special way to become more self-aware and grow personally, professionally, and spiritually. Activities include sharing space with a horse, grooming, leading, walking, journaling and more. This creates endless possibilities for growth. Horse Therapy is a step deeper than life coaching, in that the sessions are led by a licensed therapist. Under the supervision of the therapist with a focus in mind, the client can experience guided sessions with the facilitation of a horse.Serenity is supported by many volunteers of all ages and levels of experience. Some of their duties include cleaning stalls, feeding, watering, grooming, and exercising the horses. The volunteers also pay close attention to any changes in a horse or while grooming they look for new cuts or wounds anywhere on the body and report to Wendy or Sheilarae.Some of the volunteers have become adopters or fosters.
