Brian Kaspr is an artist based in Norwalk, CT. Kaspr’s artistic work has evolved from his skills as a sign painter and lettering artist. His abstract paintings and public art are based in lettering, but, rather than convey a message, the letterforms are utilized as a means of mark making. The structure of words, letters, and language create a framework for abstraction, texture, and explorations in color. Letter fragments and negative spaces provide a familiarity that ground his energetic and vibrant work. Mark Bradley-Shoup earned his BFA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in Painting and Drawing and his MFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Studio Art. Bradley-Shoup produces meticulously crafted paintings and works on paper based in part on his own manipulated photographs of both urban and rural environments. He employs extensive use of masking tape, rulers and x-acto blades to generate precise areas of paint that emphasize the surface texture of his compositions in a way that undermines any elements of photorealist illusion. Prevalent themes in his work include “consumption and growth,” “expansion and recession,” and “the elegance of brutality.” He has worked with various non-profit agencies and educational institutions including the Hunter Museum of American Art, the Association for Visual Arts, Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga, the Creative Discovery Museum, Chattanooga Parks, Recreation, Arts and Culture, and the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences. Currently, Bradley-Shoup is based in Chattanooga and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. I worked in sports marketing, creating artistic marketing material for brands and custom branded products for events. After getting a taste of the corporate world, I decided that working more creatively in Freelance would allow me to work with many individuals, brands, and companies doing an array of projects. I have done murals for offices in NYC. I have done custom holiday windows for storefronts all around NYC. I have created custom artworks and hand painted furniture pieces for Housing Works charity as well as The Pink Agenda. I currently call Chattanooga, Tennessee my home due to relocating after Covid-19, and have been truly enjoyment the beauty of Tennessee that I took for granted in my youth.

kate roebuck is an artist and designer practicing + residing in east tennessee. she graduated with a bfa from university of georgia in 2009, where upon graduating, she began to design for hable construction. kate went on to pursue a career in fine art and in 2013 began a solo studio practice. kate creates large-scale graphic paintings heavily rooted in form, motif, color, and contrast. exploring the world through the liquidity of watercolor allows her to move without tension and pushback. her practice therefore becomes both a foil and encouragement to her life as a working artist and mother, one in which rhythm takes over and she is free to chase the boundary between art and life.
