Created here in Cleveland in 1938 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, two teens from the Glenville neighborhood, Superman&mdash;&ldquo;the champion of the oppressed&rdquo;&mdash;has grown into a worldwide phenomenon. Last year, Cleveland celebrated its hometown hero when the movie Superman, directed by James Gunn, put the city on the big screen. The Siegel &amp; Shuster Society also unveiled Siegel &amp; Shuster Plaza, with statues of the Man of Steel. It has become a new tourist destination honoring the creators.We&rsquo;ll celebrate the work of two of Cleveland&rsquo;s greatest sons with a live interview with Bill Garvey, President of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, who will share behind-the-scenes stories about bringing Superman to Cleveland and discuss the city&rsquo;s growing role as a hub for Hollywood. The interview will be moderated by Siegel &amp; Shuster Society board member Valentino Zullo, Assistant Professor of English and Co-Director of the Rust Belt Humanities Lab at Ursuline College, and will include a Q&amp;A.
