Illinois, referred to as the Prairie State, was once characterized by prairies. But today, less than 1% of pre-settler prairies exist. By destroying these important ecosystems for industrial agriculture and development, we've witnessed biodiversity loss, water and air pollution, and increased greenhouse gas emissions. Native prairie plants have deep roots and can help eliminate soil runoff, capture carbon, and lead to overall ecosystem health for plants, animals, and humans. This print, made using watercolors and natural powder dye paints, is meant to showcase the beauty of prairies and inspire land restoration where this is possible.
Note: this is a print, not the original painting. Size is 8x10
Value: $65

For the winner: Donor will mail this to the highest bidder
