The influence of Philadelphia's vibrant art scene, coupled with the colonial charm of Bucks County, where he spent his formative years, shaped his creative perspective. From an early age, art was Wynne's passion. Under the mentorship of his art teacher, William T. Bagley—a master impressionist—Wynne honed his skills in oil and watercolor painting, discovering his unique artistic voice. He further pursued his art education at Trenton Junior College. Anticipating the draft, Wynne enlisted in the Army, where his artistic talents found new applications. At Fort Belvoir, Virginia, he attended drafting school and contributed to creating training aids and illustrations for Army magazines. His talents were sought after for personal commissions from post commanders, and he continued as an Army illustrator during his three-year posting in Fairbanks, Alaska. During this time, he also explored sculpture at the University of Alaska. After completing his military service, Wynne relocated to Michigan and eventually settled in Los Angeles, where he fulfilled a lifelong dream by founding his own successful commercial graphic design company, Wynne Graphics. Despite his commercial success, Wynne remained deeply dedicated to fine art. Over his prolific career, he created hundreds of oil paintings, landscapes, and works in acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, and mixed media. His artwork, cherished by collectors, can be found in private collections across the nation and around the globe. He was an active member of the National Society of Oil & Acrylic Painters and the American Artists Professional League. Value: Priceless Edgar Degas "After Degas" Spanish Dancer Midcentury Resin Figurine Sculpture Collectors NY 15" After Degas's death, his heirs found in his studio 150 wax sculptures, many in disrepair. They consulted foundry owner Adrien Hébrard, who concluded that 74 of the waxes could be cast in bronze. It is assumed that, except for the Little Dancer Aged Fourteen, all Degas bronzes worldwide are cast from surmoulages [fr] (i.e., cast from bronze masters). A surmoulage bronze is a bit smaller, and shows less surface detail, than its original bronze mold. The Hébrard Foundry cast the bronzes from 1919 until 1936, and closed down in 1937, shortly before Hébrard's death. This piece is 15" tall.
