What molecules make the color of candy?&nbsp; Join us to learn about molecules, electrical currents, molecule charges and attractions and how all of this helps scientists sort tiny molecules to answer scientific questions. You will load color mixtures on paper or a gel and watch them race so you can answer the color detective questions!&nbsp; Recommended for students in grades: 5-8&nbsp;Prerequisites: No prior knowledge necessary Aug 11th, 6-7:30 pm : Race some molecules on paper and find out if all black markers are the same. Aug 13th, 6-7:30pm:&nbsp;Race some molecules through a gel obstacle course to find out what color molecules were used in candy colors. This means your student should make a plan to wear long pants, long sleeves, and closed toe shoes. In the hot summer, we recommend that they bring a sweatshirt or similar and a lose pair of long pants to put on and wear right over their summer outfit during the class. Closed toe shoes are required to protect their feet from spills (they can bring a pair to change shoes at our facility).
