Townsend Ecumenical Outreach (TEO) is holding a Community on the Common &amp; Concert on the Common event, taking place Saturday, September 6, 2025, on the Townsend Common. This day-long celebration will feature live music, family activities, a corn hole tournament, food trucks, artisan vendors, children&rsquo;s games, and more &mdash; all while raising vital funds to support TEO&rsquo;s mission of supporting local families in need. We hope you can help.&nbsp;For over 40 years, TEO has provided essential services to the communities of Ashby, Townsend, and Pepperell, with a growing number of referrals from Groton and Lunenburg. Our programs include:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;" type="disc"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Food Pantry &ndash; offering fresh, frozen, and non-perishable foods to hundreds of households each month, including school-based pantries for children.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Clothes Closet &ndash; providing free clothing and household goods to families in need.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Holiday and School Programs &ndash; ensuring children have nutritious meals during school break, access to warm coats, backpacks, school supplies, and holiday gifts.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Emergency Assistance &ndash; helping residents facing unexpected hardships with basic needs.</li></ul>Unfortunately, reduced federal support, rising food costs, and increasing demand have placed an unprecedented need for our resources. Budget cuts at the federal level, and&nbsp; the regional food bank, despite its best efforts, can&rsquo;t supply what we need. TEO is now purchasing more food directly, often at higher prices. Direct donations have also declined, making community support more critical than ever.
