Join Office Hours for a Craft Class &amp; Reading with Kay Ulanday Barrett on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 6:30PM-8:30 PM via Zoom (see below for details).&nbsp; Disabled Poetics &amp; Crip Ecologies:&nbsp;This workshop session delves into Disabled poetics and Crip Ecologies in its many &nbsp;hybrid, justice-informed, climate-aware, performance-based, and multi-approach &nbsp;radiances. This poetry of the body-mind has a long lineage and helps us identify, &nbsp;transform, and strategize various tools in rhythm, sound, form, approach, and &nbsp;technique. All abilities are celebrated and all disabilities uplifted. We&rsquo;ll unpack and &nbsp;generate new writing together using mapping, access awareness, and memory building &nbsp;to explore the possibilities and care of our reading and writing. Poets possibly considered but not limited to:&nbsp;JJJJJerome Ellis, Saleem Hue Penny, Cyr&eacute;e Jarelle Johnson, Suzi Garcia, Walela &nbsp;Nehanda, Leroy Moore, Arianna Monet, Joselia Rebekah Hughes, and more!&nbsp; EMPHASIS:&nbsp;This session emphasizes works of Queer, Transgender, Non-Binary, and Gender Non Conforming who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color aka The Global Majority. A &nbsp;keen focus will include vital work of Sick, Disabled, Migrant, and working class/poor &nbsp;perspectives.&nbsp;We will elaborate on performance, writing exercises, and disabled poetics approaches &nbsp;as artistic and political strategies. These methods hope to encourage us to polish our &nbsp;emotional and connective landscape.
