🎤 About the Speaker: Anna Timmerman

Anna Timmerman is an associate horticulture agent with the LSU AgCenter in the New Orleans area, where she has spent eight years working with home gardeners, farmers, and green industry professionals.

She holds a master’s degree from LSU’s School of Soil, Plant, and Environmental Sciences, specializing in containerized satsuma production. Before that, she earned a bachelor’s in fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, focusing on pre-Renaissance egg tempera painting.

Anna’s horticultural journey started on her family farm in Michigan and led her to New Orleans in 2011, where she became a landscape contractor. She later founded an independent landscaping company specializing in historical gardening.

She is a Louisiana licensed landscape horticulturist and a certified Louisiana nursery and landscape professional. When she’s not helping others cultivate their gardens, she tends her own in the Upper 9th Ward and curates a community seed library.
