"I find wonder in all things, but especially in the vast expanse of this mysterious universe. This piece was inspired by the Cosmic Cliffs of the Carina Nebula."
Materials: Acrylic on paper
Dimensions: 11" x 14"
From the Artist:
"Growing up as a highly creative child who experienced poverty, I was desperate for any kind of art supply I could get my hands on, which were few and far between. Being able to now use my art to help provide art supplies to other children feels, in some way, like I’m also giving that to my younger self. I’m so proud to be even just a small part of this mission."
About the Artist:
My acrylic paintings are inspired by emotion, memory, and the places and objects that shape our personal stories. I use bold color and an expressive style to turn familiar places into something more imaginative and emotional. I’m interested in how a place can hold memories long after we’ve left and incite feelings even if we’ve never been there.

BUY NOW – $175: https://www.givekidsart.org/shop/wonder-mind-book-abigail-aguilar
"When I think about 'wonder,' I imagine two things that both fascinate me and scare me: outer space and the ocean. I wish I had the means and opportunity to physically explore these places, which is why I decided to make an interactive piece. It is a book meant to be handled, explored, and wondered upon. To make extraordinary things, we need wonder and action."
Materials: Paper, pen, watercolor, colored pencil, crayons, oil pastels, and paint markers
Dimensions: 7.5” x 5.5” x 3/8”
From the Artist:
"I was pleasantly surprised by the materials for this challenge. It was especially wonderful to figure out how to use what was given in a new way for me."
About the Artist:
I am a drawer and a storyteller. With my collages, I look for alternative ways to tell a story. Each collage is a series of layers of my own drawings and other media. I treat each part of my drawings as puzzle pieces. The images and text are found on social media and taken out of context. Their combinations help me create a partial narrative. It is a conversation between the material, myself, and the viewer. Half of the story is there; the rest is up for interpretation.

BUY NOW – $125: https://www.givekidsart.org/shop/what-a-wonderful-world-patricia-efunsade
"'What a Wonderful World' began with the question provided by Give Kids Art: “What still makes me wonder?”
My answer became: I wonder if it’s still a wonderful world.
While there is hatred, division, and pain in the world, there are moments when I genuinely wonder if this world is still a good place to be. Because I also know there is goodness here. I know there is love here. I know there is beauty here.
The bright sun, little pink house, flowers, and winding path aren’t meant to pretend that everything is beautiful. They represent the beauty and goodness that continue to exist.
Maybe what still makes me wonder isn’t only whether this is still a wonderful world, but whether we are willing to keep creating the beauty we want to see."
Materials: Mixed-media paper collage using painted and textured papers, layered paper elements, and assorted materials from the Create Fearlessly Art Kit
Dimensions: 20” x 10”

Wonder-filled moments like this surround us if we stop to notice."

"Ever since I was a child, the depths of the ocean fascinated me. As I looked at a LIFE library book about the sea, I was transported to a new world. Today, many, many years later, I still find I have a strong connection to oceans. Maybe I was a mermaid in a past life! Recently, I got an octopus tattoo because I have learned so much about them and what they symbolize: a reminder of one’s own strength, adaptability, and the importance of embracing unique qualities."

"'The Night Sky' reflects the wonder that comes from gazing at the night sky. In looking at its vastness, don’t we all become like wide-eyed children? Against its black vacuum, color and light still play—and it gives me joy as an artist to evoke this magic."
Materials: Watercolor & gouache on Arches paper, mounted to birch panel
Dimensions: 18” x 14” x 1-5/8”
From the Artist:
"This is my first experience interacting with the Art Kit Challenge. As Pablo Picasso once said, “Every child is an artist; the problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” I’m grateful that the challenge prompt, “What still makes you wonder?”, reconnected me with the enchantment of looking at the world through the eyes of a child. I firmly believe that art gives kids the freedom to express the unique person they are."
About the Artist:
Watercolorist and poet Linda Simone paints landscapes, portraits, and still life subjects, often layering recycled tea bags, coffee filters, and other found materials for more expressive compositions. “I enjoy coaxing the medium to transform reality into a more expressive dimension.” Her work is currently on display in Texas at Hotel Contessa and Kapej Gallery in San Antonio, and Waring Market in Waring.

"When I create, I often begin by asking my inner artist — my inner child — what she wants to make that day. Sometimes, I’m surprised and touched by what comes through. At times, it takes the form of childlike musings like this piece; at others, I find myself exploring more technical studies of form or color. That connection to my inner child guides every brushstroke and choice of subject matter, whether I’m creating through the lens of who I am today or trying to access how the world may have looked and felt to me long ago."

Dimensions: 16" x 20"
About the Artist:
SJ Spreng is a multidisciplinary visual artist and creative director based in Los Angeles, working across photography, painting, and mixed media. She's driven by an insatiable thirst for deeper understanding. In pursuit of whatever lies beneath the layers of each of us, her loosened grip on convention leads her toward subject matter that is purely intuitive and spiritual.
Her work moves between sincerity and humor, capturing familiar themes and symbols through a distorted, color-coded lens. She's drawn to the ways imagination, absurdity, and delight can coexist with uncertainty and despair. She perches on the shared wall between the best and worst of our existence.
SJ approaches image-making as a form of secret-telling: a diary of the symbols and images of everyday life and the occult alike. Largely self-taught, SJ considers her lack of formal artistic training an essential part of her practice, allowing curiosity rather than convention to guide her. Across mediums, she makes work that feels emotionally true while leaving room for whimsy and mischief.

"As an adult who recently returned to school to pursue a midlife career change, I have been awed by all the things I still have to learn about the world. When I asked myself what still makes me wonder, the first thing that popped into my head was my anatomy professor saying, “To understand the body, we have to understand cells.” I challenged myself to approach my piece as a kid would, using only the materials provided in the kit. To that end, I’ve made a paper quilt in the shape of a house because, as I’ve learned recently, the body is essentially a house of cells."
Materials: Paper, watercolor, marker, embroidery floss, stick from the backyard
Dimensions: 17" x 14" x 0.5”

BUY NOW – $150: https://www.givekidsart.org/shop/k-bowl-12x55-audrey-simone
“kè Bowl” was inspired by the iron hearts and decorative scroll patterns found on screen doors, gates, and grilles throughout Los Angeles. These decorative details grew out of a mix of practical necessity, regional folk art, and mid-century craftsmanship.
While living in Los Angeles, Audrey has always been fascinated by the many variations of these doors and gates and wanted to bring that visual language to life through pottery. The iconic iron heart motif also reminded her of the Haitian Vodou symbols her father has tattooed, creating a connection between the architecture surrounding her and her own family history.
Materials: B-Slip stoneware clay, ceramic glaze, and underglaze pencil
Dimensions: 12" x 5.5"
About the Artist:
Audrey Simone is a Seattle-born artist who began exploring ceramics only a few months ago. Now living in Los Angeles, she finds inspiration in the details of the city around her, particularly the iron doors, gates, and decorative grilles that line its neighborhoods. The iron hearts and scrolling forms found on screen doors reminded her of the Haitian symbols and imagery she grew up seeing through her father, who has long worn Haitian Vodou symbol tattoos. Through ceramics, she is interested in translating these everyday architectural details into objects that feel both familiar and personal.

"I created a series of punch-needle pieces in 2020 that look like handwritten notes on lined paper. These works inhabit the space between memory and distance and recreate place. The series references a blank page to be filled later, like an unfinished letter. I came back to it a few years later to add some text in reference to bittersweet feelings spanning friendship through a pandemic, diasporic family, and beyond."

"When thinking about what still makes me wonder… I honestly couldn’t stop thinking. There are at least 100 questions that roll through my mind each day, as I am inherently very curious and desperate to make sense of things.
I took a step back and thought of the things that create a quiet presence in my mind, things I don’t fully understand but still bring me peace. I thought of the natural cycle of life and the human desire to preserve it. I thought of the Fibonacci sequence and how something so special can be found in something so common. I thought of water, its ability to remember, and its abundance found in all forms of existence.
These ideas came together in the form of a hanging mobile showcasing real waxed flowers and droplet-like beads hung from a metal spiral, connected together by a wooden hoop. This is an ephemeral sculpture and will change over time. These beautiful flowers will still inevitably dry out and lose color even with their wax-preserved seal, possibly even by the time you receive this sculpture if chosen to bid on. They will not be forgotten, just changed, and still deserve a chance at being cherished, much like you and I. Their structure will stay the same and so will the water which once provided them life. Their simple cycle will continue to spin, bringing new energy and curiosity to those taking in its natural presence from below."
Materials: Waxed florals, chain, beads, wire, wood, fishing line
Dimensions: 29” x 7.5” x 7.5”
From the Artist:
"Participating in the Art Kit Challenge brought me a lot of nostalgia and made me rediscover my love for 3D mediums. It made me remember what it’s like to create with materials I already own and how that can push your creativity to do new things!"

Kids have such a genuine curiosity about the world, asking questions philosophers and scientists can only dream of.
