The mission of the Alexander Clark Foundation is to preserve the legacy of Alexander Clark as an early equal rights pioneer through promotion, education, and maintaining the Alexander Clark home. The Foundation partners with Muscatine Community College to promote and educate on equality and justice issues through the Alexander Clark Lecture Series. Please support Clark&rsquo;s legacy by donating through the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine and designate your gift for &ldquo;Alexander Clark Foundation Project Fund.&rdquo; The Foundation is actively looking for additional members to further the work of the Foundation.&nbsp;Friends of Fairport Fish HatcheryFriends of Fairport Fish Hatchery was established to preserve historic resources at the Fairport Fish Hatchery, support its historical and scientific research, and educate students and the public about conservation efforts (both past and present) to protect mussels and fish from impacts due to pollution, siltation, and overfishing. Please help us to preserve this unique structure as a center to study &amp; celebrate the agricultural heritage of Muscatine County. Learners of all ages can pique their curiosity through changing exhibitions, classes, and events. The Muscatine Art Center is always need of volunteers to greet visitors at the front desk, help maintain the Japanese Garden, assist with the collections database, and even decorate for the holidays.&nbsp;Muscatine County Arts CouncilThe Muscatine County Arts Council provides support for the arts as well as cultural &amp; entertainment opportunities for the greater Muscatine County Area. Events like Eagles &amp; Ivories Music Festival, Art Array juried art show, Sunday Concerts, and Wandering Words sidewalk poetry, and the Muscatine Plein Air Paint Out are all ways for you to participate in our vibrant community.&nbsp;Muscatine County ConservationThe Muscatine County Conservation Board manages 11 county parks encompassing 1740 acres. &nbsp;The Environmental Learning Center in Discovery Park is a great tool for all ages to learn about the local plants and animals that call Iowa home. &nbsp;It is open 7 days a week and is free to visit. &nbsp;You can keep up with current events online at www.MuscatineCountyConservation.com or on Facebook at Muscatine County Conservation Board.&nbsp;Muscatine County Genealogical Society&nbsp;The Muscatine County Genealogical Society was organized to assist individuals in their genealogical research. Volunteers are needed to assist with an inventory of public sculptures and murals in Muscatine. Financial donations are needed to support future public art projects.&nbsp;Muscatine Sister Cities&nbsp;The goal of Muscatine Sister Cities is to offer the people of Muscatine and of similar nations opportunities to get acquainted -- to understand one another as individuals, members of their community, as citizens of their country, and as part of the family of nations.&nbsp;Muscatine Symphony OrchestraThe Muscatine Symphony Orchestra is celebrating our 24th season. We welcome all to our concerts and encourage any music lover to contact us who are interested in joining our Muscatine Symphony Orchestra Association Board of Directors or our support group, the Symphony Guild. This small river town produced 1/3 of the world&rsquo;s pearl buttons, over 1.5 billion per year.
