LXCL:Individuals aged 5 and older. Participants under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Each paid participant can make up to one dozen mooncakes.  If extra ingredients and materials are available during the class, paid participants may purchase additional mooncakes at $5 per half dozen (6 mooncakes).

Culture in Food: Minimal Waste Cooking Class Series is a four-part hands-on cooking series that connects cultural food traditions with practical strategies for reducing food waste. Led by Chef Cheng, participants will learn cooking techniques that help them use ingredients more fully, creatively repurpose leftovers, reduce over-preparation, and make the most of seasonal foods. Each class will feature a culturally meaningful food or cooking tradition, combining hands-on cooking, cultural storytelling, and discussion about sustainable food practices. The series will include mooncake making for the Mid-Autumn Festival and other seasonal foods, while encouraging participants to bring these practical, minimal-waste cooking strategies into their own kitchens and communities. Date: Sunday, Sept, 27 &nbsp;2026, &nbsp;2:30 pm -5 pm&nbsp;Place: West Metro Chinese Church, 3695 County Rd 101, Plymouth, MN 55446Cost:&nbsp;$10 per person &nbsp;(minimum age 5).
