Body Ether Institute invites you into the first gathering of CURRENT/FIELD, an evolving series of somatic meditations exploring the living body through sound, touch, attention, environment, and plant intelligence. For this first gathering, we turn toward expansion. What happens when we stop trying to fix ourselves and instead create the conditions for the body to listen, adapt, receive, and change? Anna Luisa Petrisko will guide a live sound meditation while Adee Roberson moves through the space offering brief, individualized moments of craniosacral, polarity, and Chi Nei Tsang / Tao Touch-inspired contact. Each participant will receive approximately five minutes of intuitive touch, while the sound continues to hold the larger field. The practice is not about correcting the body or finding a solution. It is about listening. So much of what we experience lives beyond language. The body communicates through breath, vibration, tension, sensation, rhythm, the organs, fascia, and the nervous system. Sound and touch can offer ways of being supported and witnessed that don't require us to explain, analyze, or perform our way toward change. You don't need to arrive with an intention. You don't need to figure anything out. You don't need to make anything happen. There is value in simply being present, listening, and receiving support. The final 30 minutes will open into a shared period of sound and integration, with Anna and Adee joining the collective field. We will then gather for tea and a closing circle—a space to share what you noticed, what you experienced, or simply what it was like to be held in the space. For this inaugural gathering, we are beginning a Body Ether Herbal Archive in collaboration with Jamaican artist Kamala Davis. A custom herbal infusion made from plants grown and hand-harvested in Jamaica will accompany the closing circle, bringing the intelligence of Jamaican soil and plant traditions into the Los Angeles gathering. The tea is the beginning of an ongoing exploration of plants, place, body, taste, smell, memory, and transformation—one that we hope to continue developing through future CURRENT/FIELD gatherings.CURRENT/FIELD is intentionally open-ended. 12 participants · Donation-based CURRENT/FIELD will take place in the outdoor space behind Golden Folk Wellness in Highland Park. Bring a yoga mat and/or comfortable ground covering and a blanket. A small pillow, bolster, or anything else that brings you comfort is welcome. Because we will be outdoors and spending much of the evening lying or reclining, dress in comfortable layers and bring water. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early so you have time to settle in before we begin promptly at 7 PM. As the experience includes individualized somatic touch, all touch is optional. You may communicate any areas you would prefer not to be touched, and you may change or withdraw consent at any point during the session. Space is limited.
