Museum of 20th Century Warfare  and Fort Harrison State Park are planning a 2 day living history event of D-Day and battles in the Bocage prior to Operation Cobra. There will be one public battle on 7 June to demonstrate the immense difficulties of fighting in the Bocage. We are looking for Allied reenactors with full and semiauto BAR’s M1919, M1917, Thompsons and Bazookas in addition to M1 rifles, M1 carbines and M1903 rifles.  Small field artillery like 37mm, 57mm and 75mm pack howitzers are welcome.German reenactors with full and semiauto MG34, Mg42, mortars and small field artillery in addition to K98 and MP40 are sought to defend the hedgerow. The museum has 160 feet of camouflage netting to simulate a hedgerow for the Gemans to defend.  We are looking for another 160 feet.  If anyone can help provide that we would be very grateful. The museum is looking for volunteers for Allied commander, German commander, US Medic, US Engineer mine clearing, MP’s and Signals plus lots of soldiers to help make this an outstanding reenactment in central Indiana for the public to watch and learn from.  Outdoor camp area is available. Camp displays are encouraged. Two buildings are available with open floor space for sleeping with pre-registration.  Bring your own sleeping gear.  Indoor latrines and water are provided.  Parking is nearby for easy unloading/loading.   This event is held in a state park so vehicles can only move on paved roads.
