Sacred Garden Community Song Circle
On my trip to Bolivia I realized how powerful and elegant signing in ceremony can be and it made me want to learn how to sing. I recently started taking weekly voice lessons with my good friend Carolyn Arnold and feels amazing learning how to resonate with another human in that way. I have a deep desire to grow my skill as a singer and to do it in community. If you like to sing, want to learn how to sing or just want to feel connected to other members of the Sacred Garden Community, come. Our intention is to make this a regular event, so we can grow together as a chorus.
Proceeds from the event are split between SGC and Carolyn. If the ticket price is keeping you from attending, please don't feel shy selecting one of the free tickets. We just want to sing with you.
We will likely say a prayer over some bread and wine in observance of shabbat, but as with anything specifically denominational at SGC, participation is 100% optional.
Carolyn Arnold
Carolyn is a singer, songwriter and vocal coach based in Berkeley. She has spent over a decade teaching individuals and groups how to sing and access their joy and power through their voices. In her teens and early 20s she was a summer camp song leader at Hidden Villa summer camp in Los Altos Hills. As a young adult, living in Olympia, Washington in the early 2000’s she cofounded the Olympia old time music community, leading songs and teaching fiddle through classes at the Olympia free school. In the last 10 years, she has focused on developing her songwriting and solo performance and has produced many house concerts where she shares her original songs and leads the audience in singing. She is thrilled for the opportunity to lead songs and chants for the Multi faith church.
