Sawtuna (Our Voice) Youth Debate Program Who:&nbsp; Girls, Grades 7 &ndash;9 Format: Weekly, interactive debate sessions Focus: Public Speaking &bull; Critical Thinking &bull; Argument Building &bull; Research &bull; Rebuttals &bull; Impromptu Speaking &bull; Practice DebatesWhen:&nbsp;Mondays beginning Oct 5, 2026 | 5:30 PM &ndash; 7:00 PM9 SessionsInstructors: Huda Shah and Zaara Ehsan Sawtuna (صَوْتُنَا), meaning &ldquo;Our Voice,&rdquo; is an interactive youth debate program designed to help girls in grades 7&ndash;9 develop confidence, critical thinking, public speaking, and respectful communication skills. Through weekly hands-on activities, students will learn the foundations of parliamentary debate, including how to build strong arguments, research a topic, respond to opposing viewpoints, think on their feet, and deliver persuasive speeches. Sessions will include speaking drills, impromptu exercises, practice debates, constructive feedback, and mock tournaments. The program will build toward a final debate showcase, giving students an opportunity to put their new skills into practice. Students will also work toward developing the skills needed to participate in external youth debate tournaments. No previous debate experience is required.
