Sewing and Mending Workshop with EcoShip&#39;s Associate Board Date: Saturday, January 31stTime: 2:00pm-5:00pmLocation: EcoShip&#39;s retail space at 3248 N Pulaski Rd, Chicago, IL 60641Class details: Come sew with us at our new space in Avondale! This is an open workshop environment. Want to sew some simple projects out of upcycled materials? Learn how to sew easy (unpaper towels, reusable makeup remover pads) or intermediate sustainable projects (produce bags, scrunchies)! Already an experienced sewist? You can meet others who combine a love of sewing with a love of sustainability. Have a simple clothing repair? We can help with that, too!What is included in your ticket price: Light refreshments, access to sewing supplies such as thread, needles, and fabric, and access to a positive environment where you can learn or practice your skills. If you want to bring your own fabric to work with, please do! We recommend bringing old T-shirts and old cotton material (like an old bedsheet or dress shirt) because it&#39;s easy to cut and sew.Sewing machines: We have two sewing machines available on-site. If you would like to bring your own, please do! Most projects will be sewn by hand. Getting there: There is paid street parking available on Pulaski Rd and the corner of School St or free parking further west on School St and in the surrounding area. If you&#39;re taking public transit, we are located near the Pulaski bus (53), Belmont bus (77), &amp; Milwaukee bus (56). *This class is non-refundable, but your ticket can be transferred to someone else.
