On Thursday August 27, the H.A.R.P. Museum at the Irish Cultural Center will show both episodes of the film series &ldquo;Rh&eacute;abhl&oacute;id Mheirice&aacute;: Na Laochra Gael&rdquo; or &ldquo;Irish Heroes of the American Revolution.&rdquo; The first episode, &ldquo;Breith N&aacute;isi&uacute;in&rdquo; or &ldquo;A Nation is Born,&rdquo; will start at 7 PM. After a short break, the second &nbsp;episode, &ldquo;Bua N&oacute; B&aacute;s&rdquo; or &ldquo;Victory or Death,&rdquo; will start at 8:15. The films are a perfect complement to our current exhibit &quot;Ireland and the Making of America.&quot;&nbsp; In celebration of America&rsquo;s 250th anniversary declaring its independence from Great Britain, the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley is proud to present a film that tells the story of several Irish immigrants who greatly contributed to the founding of our nation. Charles Thomson was a native of County Londonderry who arrived as a fatherless and penniless boy and went on to become the Secretary of the Continental Congress. Stephen Moylan from County Cork whose expertise in shipping logistics led to several commanding positions in the Continental Army and was the first to use the &nbsp;phrase &quot;United States of America&rdquo; in writing. Henry Knox, the son of Ulster immigrants who had settled in Boston went from bookstore owner to Secretary of War as the result of his heroic efforts to force the British Army out of Boston.&nbsp; These films were made available through TG4, the Irish language television station, and producer GMarshTV. English and Irish language with English subtitles spoken throughout. Each film is approximately 50 minutes in length. This is a free event, however to ensure adequate seating, we do ask that you register here or &nbsp;leave a message at 315-733-4228 Ext 6.&nbsp; You can attend this presentation at the H.A.R.P. Museum located on the second floor of the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley, 623 Columbia St, Utica. All are welcome to attend this program and the museum is wheelchair accessible.
