JOIN US FOR A POWERFUL NIGHT HONORING OUR FIRST RESPONDERS
First Responders in Crisis - a powerful documentary selected as the opening night film for the Awareness Film Festival - explores the mental health struggles of firefighters, police officers, and EMTs in a small New England town. Though First Responders make up less than 2% of the population, they account for nearly 20% of suicides. This film sheds light on the hidden toll of their service.
Retired Yarmouth Chief of Police Frank Frederickson, will emcee this very moving evening to benefit First Responders. Following the screening, a panel discussion will feature:
• Corey Moss, director of the film
• Keith Hanks, from the film, firefighter and EMT,
and Founder of Traumatic Strength
• Brian Harkins, from the film, Stoughton Fire Dept.,
firefighter and medic
• Lt. Dave Gambino, from the film, Ware Fire Dept.
• Lt. Diana Wells, Yarmouth Police Dept.
• Officer Brian Morrison, Barnstable Police Dept.
All proceeds from this evening will support the launch of Emerald Hollow Therapeutic Riding Center’s First Responders Program, offered at no cost to all Cape Cod First Responders. This Equine-Assisted Learning Program provides a safe space to process trauma, reduce stress and anxiety, build trust, and strengthen emotional resilience. Dr. Elizabeth Richardson, co-leader of the program at Emerald Hollow, will also be on the panel to answer questions and share more about this life-changing initiative.
Please join us at the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School Auditorium to honor and support those who serve us every day.
