2025 Media Hall of Fame Lunch with New York Times' Dean Baquet

Join former New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet for a special luncheon as we induct new members into the Coachella Valley Media Hall of Fame and honor several working journalists in our community!

Each year, three to five individuals are inducted into the Hall of Fame to recognize their commitment to the profession and the impact of their work on the community. Journalists and other media leaders and professionals, including those working in public relations, marketing communications and related fields, will be considered for induction.

The 2025 inductees are:

  • John White, longtime news TV anchor at KESQ
  • Laurilie Jackson, College of the Desert journalism instructor and TV anchor
  • Adolfo Íñiguez Lomelí, longtime morning personality and programmer with "La Poderosa" 96.7 FM
  • Gloria Greer, the late writer, editor, publisher and TV personality who pioneered "Stars on the Desert"

Baquet will share his insights on the state of local journalism and discuss his new initiative that is putting investigative reporters into local communities — including the Coachella Valley!

Our uplifting event is set for Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, at the beautiful Omni Rancho Las Palmas resort in Rancho Mirage.
