One afternoon each week at Massaro Community Farm

Allow your child to experience a season on nearby Massaro Community Farm, located on the line of Woodbridge and Ansonia. Formerly a dairy operation, the farm has been growing vegetables and producing flowers, eggs and honey for the past 10 years. Our after school program allows children to visit the farm each Wednesday afternoon to perform garden chores, plant for the spring,  explore the Nature Trail and learn woodland survival skills. Program encourages children to embrace outdoor activities during the spring season.  Mixed ages to resemble sibling feel for this small group educational series. All farm staff are fully vaccinated.  8 sessions will take place 3:30-5:30pm on Wednesdays from March 29 through May 24 (skips Easter week (week of April 10). Bussing provided from Mead & Prendergast to the farm. Pick up your child at the farm.

Your child will be able to board Bus #3 that will bring them from school to the farm. This program runs rain or shine. A suggested change of shoes is recommended because the ground can be wet or muddy in the spring. This is very much an outdoor program, weather permitting. We have both indoor and outdoor restrooms and your child may be expected to use our very clean and serviced porta potties while we await the construction of additional outdoor restrooms. Please remember this program runs only on Wednesday afternoons. We will skip Easter week, the week of April 10 and will resume after. The program will conclude on May 24.  Kind regards.
