This workshop will provide Muslim community members with the tools to safely, effectively and efficiently advocate for social justice issues impacting their local community, whether stemming from local or global issues. During the program, attendees will learn the Islamic foundations of social justice, the history of Muslim social justice movements, and the various avenues for continuing such movements, including through law, policy, civic engagement, public speaking, and social media. They will also gain the opportunity to interact with Imams, elected officials, mental health professionals, activists, and other advocacy experts.
