Following a year of festival screenings across the globe, Etched In Pavement returns home for its highly anticipated Detroit premiere at the historic <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.thewright.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Charles H. Wright Museum</a> for a one night only public event. We are pleased to announce, Joyce Barrow-Henderson, daughter of the heavyweight champion, humanitarian and Detroit icon Joe Louis, will present the film and join in for conversation with the filmmakers and audience.&nbsp; Please join us for a night of film, community, history and conversation. Film Synopsis:In a remote corner of Detroit, where the streets echo with both hardship and hope, two young men turn fighting into a language of survival, purpose and community.&nbsp; Filmed over four years, Etched In Pavement follows Dwane Taylor and Michael Futrell whose weaving paths move through youth combat sports, professional boxing and their grassroots Guns Down, Gloves Up street-fighting movement. As they navigate fatherhood, loss, and those who came before, the film becomes an intimate portrait of generations caught between violence and purpose, survival and legacy.
