This offering invites participants to consider ways in which Black, Brown and Indigenous communities maintain an intrinsic spiritual, material and emotional relationship with the land. Through a nature walk and foraging session followed by a hands-on cyanotype workshop facilitated by <a fr-original-style="" href="https://indigoartsalliance.me/artists/maya-tihtiyas-attean/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; -webkit-user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Maya Tihtiyas Attean,</a> our time together will be focused on the human impact, relationship, and stewardship of our shared landscape.&nbsp; Cyanotype is a non-toxic UV sensitive photographic process, but it does stain clothing/fabric if it makes contact. All materials will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring personal ephemera to use for the cyanotyping such as photo negatives, transparencies, fabric, etc in addition to their own sketchbook, mark making supplies (pens, pencils, etc), gloves for foraging, and personal garden snips (if you have them). This workshop will have about 45-60 minutes of walking through woodsy areas/pathways. There may be a section of the walk in which folks can wade in a low stream. We encourage folks bring a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing suitable for walking/spending time in the sun. Note:&nbsp;Should the weather not be suitable for a nature walk, we will host the event in Portland at the Indigo Arts Alliance studios located at 60 Cove St. Portland, ME 04101.&nbsp; Event Address:&nbsp;217 South Mountain Rd. Greene, ME Driving Directions: Plugging the address into any map app will bring you to South Mountain Rd, but some won&#39;t get you all the way to the farm. Once you&#39;re on South Mountain road, follow it for about 0.5 miles until it turns to dirt. Keep going forward on the dirt for another 0.5 miles. You&#39;ll pass large maples on the right, go up a small hill, and pass a driveway and a stone house on the right. Parking is on the left in front of the farm field, or along the road after the driveway.
