We are excited to share the work of Alma Engebretson with the mentorship of Walken Schweigert and Sir Curtis Kirby III, one of Pangea's Directing Fellows with the mentorship of Dipankar Mukherjee.
Clocked out
Alma Engebretson
A tired, long out of work musician comes home from a draining shift at their day job. They struggle to calm down when the woes of capitalism fill their head and prevent a much needed night’s sleep. The workaday world has ground them down to a shell of what they once were- but one night they return to what they love most in an attempt to reconnect with the self and the language they have lost.
My hair is my superpower
Sir Curtis Kirby III
Stories thru the spirit of my hair, signifying major life changes; navigating life as an Indigenous Black Latinx male.
Alternate Visions provides artists of color, LGBTQ artists, immigrant and Indigenous writers a chance to develop their craft. Emerging playwrights spend an extended period of time writing and developing new plays with dramaturgical resources, travel and research funding, and production support. These pieces are presented to the public as they are developed.
