Silent Samaritan 2023

                                                                             June 5,2023

Dear Silent Samaritan,

It has been a busy 2023 at Samaritan Counseling Center. We have seen a dramatic increase in funding assistance requests.  Compared to last year, we have provided funding to more than double the number of people seeking our help. The good news is that more and more people are seeking help. However, the high demand has taken a toll on our funding programs.   We couldn’t have projected the impact and need we would have with   COVID-19.   It has certainly presented a new set of obstacles, and more people needing funding assistance due to loss of jobs or other mental health issues that are a direct result of COVID-19.  We are operating with Dr. Jura, Dr. Corder, 3 PMHNP-BC’s and 2 LCSW/LMSW.  We are always looking to add to our provider team.

Thanks to the support of our loyal Silent Samaritans, Samaritan Counseling Center  has not had to turn anyone away and we would like that streak to continue. You may make your $100 donation by check (see below) or at www.thecenterlistens.org. You can also donate on our Facebook page at facebook.com/CENTERListens or Venmo @THEcenterlistens.

We wanted to share with you that Dr. Robert Corder M.D.  Is growing the number of patients that he is seeing each week.   He is providing addiction treatments here at Samaritan Counseling Center.   We are very excited to share that we are added Kara McGhee Masters level Autism Consultant.  She is doing ADOS testing which will fill a huge gap for families in our community who are forced to go to KC to have this done now.   We are still looking for a LCSW or LPC and they can work part-time or full time.   Please consider passing this information on to anyone that it might help.

If you have already donated in 2023, please share this information with your friends or family who have a passion for helping women.  We’re always looking for new members to continue your legacy of giving.  Thank you for your continued generosity!

Sincerely,

Christine Feuerbacher,

Director of Development
