Sexual harm can leave people isolated from one another at the very moment they most need connection. Survivors often feel alone in their experience. Families and friends often struggle to know how to respond. Communities can become divided, and people who have caused harm may lack meaningful spaces to reckon with their actions and consider a different way forward.

Circles give us a way to create spaces for healing, connection, and accountability after sexual harm.

In this three-day experiential training with Kay Pranis, participants will learn how to thoughtfully design and facilitate Circles for survivors, Circles for people who have caused sexual harm, Circles for families and friends, and Circles for communities impacted by harm.

After sexual harm, survivors may want to tell the person responsible the impact of what happened, ask questions only the person responsible can answer, or have their experience acknowledged. People who have caused harm may need an opportunity to listen, take responsibility, answer questions, and better understand the impact of their actions.

Restorative dialogue creates a carefully facilitated space for these conversations. Following extensive preparation, a dialogue may bring together the person who experienced harm and the person responsible — not to undo what happened or prescribe an outcome, but to create an opportunity for truth-telling, accountability, and understanding.

In this three-day experiential training with Alissa Ackerman, participants will learn how to prepare for and facilitate restorative dialogues involving sexual harm, with particular attention to readiness, safety, choice, and the needs of everyone involved. We’ll also explore the use of surrogate dialogue, in which someone can engage with a person representing the role of a survivor or a person who has caused harm when direct dialogue is not wanted, possible, or appropriate.

Conflict often follows sexual harm. Friendships fracture, families struggle, and communities take sides. Even people who want to be supportive often say or do things that cause more harm. Survivors can find themselves navigating painful conflicts at precisely the moment they have the fewest resources to manage them.

In this three-day experiential training with Dan Simon, participants will learn to use Transformative Mediation to help people navigate the conflicts that ripple outward after sexual harm. Rather than prescribing solutions or pushing people toward agreement, Transformative Mediation supports people in reclaiming their own voice, choices, and sense of agency while opening possibilities for greater understanding and recognition.
