Known especially for its silver and metalworking factories, Meriden produced a wide range of goods, including military equipment, for the war effort.Parker Brothers was a major firearms manufacturer in Meriden during the Civil War era, producing rifles and other weapons for Union forces. Founded by brothers Charles, Edmund, and Wilbur Parker, the company became known for its precision engineering and high-quality gunmaking techniques.
