The program of the ECA 2024 'Cartoons Day' is in the making*!
But here's a sneak peek:

The main theme of this edition will be polarization: We live in a world where positions and opinions are becoming increasingly polarized. Wars and disasters, and the effect of social media on the public sphere, generate a climate of anger, making it difficult to discuss important matters. This situation affects editorial cartoonists as well. They have to deal with controversies, online hate, job insecurity, and real threats to their safety. And yet, their cartoons have never been so popular, traveling the world and going viral very easily. Why is that so?

The panels and workshops we are designing will help us unpack this topic. We will talk about it with experts, academics, editors, activists and, of course, world-class political cartoonists. There will be space for debate, reflection and to draw your own political cartoon!

After the afternoon program, we will discover who the winner of the ECA 2024 is, during our Award Ceremony, with the three 2024 finalists. Right after, we will inaugurate the ECA 2024 exhibition.
