Saturdays from 10am-12:30pm from 4/12-5/1 (4 classes total).
Art Room 10 - Ages 14+
All skill levels accepted
There is no one way to draw. In this class we will experiment with varied media and approaches from direct observation as well as photo referencing in order to learn basic drawing skills, from line to shape and tonal drawing. Drawing is all about learning new ways to see and express the world around you, finding your own voice, and building confidence. At the same time, we will look at the work of a number of artists, from ancient to contemporary, to gain inspiration and build an aesthetic approach about what a good drawing can be. This course is geared for the beginner as well as the advanced student. I start from where you are. Therefore this four week session in drawing can vary each session.

The Sketchboard clip board is used as a drawing board and for transporting drawings. But you may try substituting from what you have around you. You will find dickblick or utrechtart.com have decent prices and good quality shipped within 7 days. Your local art store, or Amazon and Job lot carry items as well as Michael’s. But stick to name brands such as: Strathmore, Canson, Bienfang, Windsor Newton, Blick, Utrecht, etc.) Stay away from the line of "General" brands in pencils and brushes. They tend not to hold up.
