Help Soul Siren Playhouse Reach Our $25,000 Box-Office Goal! This October, Soul Siren Playhouse returns to the stage with Eleanor Burgess’ acclaimed play The Niceties - and this time, we have one BIG goal: FILL. THE. HOUSE. 5 performances. 450 seats. 2,250 opportunities to experience live theatre. From October 15–18, we’ll present five performances of The Niceties at The Grandel Theatre in St. Louis. Our goal is to generate $25,000 in box-office support for this production - while making it possible for students, seniors, educators and members of our community to experience the show regardless of their ability to purchase a ticket. And we’re inviting our community to help us get there. 🎭 ABOUT THE SHOWAt a prestigious Northeastern university, a routine meeting between a Black college student and her white history professor erupts into an unflinching battle of privilege, politics, and power over who ultimately owns the American story. Sharp, provocative, funny and deeply uncomfortable, The Niceties asks what happens when two intelligent women — separated by race, generation and lived experience — discover that they don't simply disagree about American history, but America itself.
