Join us for a screening of “American Doctor,” followed by a live Q&A with Dr. Feroze Sidhwa. American Doctor is a documentary film following three American physicians - Palestinian, Jewish, and Zoroastrian - united by a single oath to save lives. After volunteering in besieged hospitals in Gaza, they return home determined to fight for the patients and colleagues they left behind, taking their battle from the frontlines of war to the halls of Congress. This event supports the Arab American Cultural Center of Silicon Valley’s mission to share authentic stories, build understanding, and create space for honest conversation. After the film, stay for a community discussion with Dr. Feroze Sidhwa, one of the doctors featured in the film. Dr. Sidhwa is a genneral, trauma, and critical care surgeon in California. He is also a humanitarian surgeon, having worked most extensively in Palestine, but also in Ukraine, Haiti, Zimbabwe, and Burkina Faso. He most recently volunteered at the European Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza from March 25-April 8, 2024 with the World Health Organization, and again from March 3-April 1, 2025 with American NGO MedGlobal. Feroze has written and spoken extensively about surgical humanitarian work, the United States’ role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the political consequences of medical relief work. He approaches the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as a secular American and as a humanitarian physician.
