Join Team New York Aquatics, New York City&#39;s LGBTQ+ inclusive swim team, for our annual pool party&nbsp;and open water swim in the Fire Island Pines! Address provided on RSVP. The party starts at 1pm with an optional open water swim in the bay from the host venue to the FIP ferry and back. Afterwards we&#39;ll have a BBQ with an open bar ending in time for Tea.&nbsp; This event is TNYA&#39;s major fundraiser for the year.&nbsp;All funds raised go to our Adult Learn to Swim program, the only LGBTQ+-affirming space for adults to learn to swim in the City, and the Paul Fortoul Fellowship Fund, which provides financial support for LGBTQ+ persons who would otherwise be unable to swim in New York.&nbsp; As hostility to LGBTQ+ persons in aquatics grows, we have seen a surge of interest in our programs from persons of all sexualities and genders who want a safe and affirming place to swim.&nbsp; Every ticket we sell covers 1 free LGBTQ+-affirming swim practice or learn-to-swim lesson for a New Yorker who could not otherwise afford it. Our goal is to raise enough money to cover 1,000 lessons this year. Thank you for helping us give back to the community we have been proud to serve for 35 years.
