This class is open to beginners, no experience necessary, ages 12+.


ABOUT THE CLASS:

  • We will study Flamenco foundations as well as the styles of Tangos de Málaga and the first Sevillanas, integrating technique with choreography. Our study of Sevillanas may include the use of castanets, with extra pairs available for students who need them.
  • These choreographies will continue into the winter semester in preparation for our annual Season Finale Showcase in May.
  • All classes integrate flamenco history, geography, culture, language, music, and stylistic structures.

For students who have completed the Beginner level or have a strong grasp of beginner-level material and are ready for a greater challenge.

  • These choreographies will continue into the winter semester in preparation for our annual Season Finale Showcase in May.

  • This class is open to Intermediate students, ages 12+.

  • Note: There is a deliberate overlap between this class and the Level 4 Advanced class to allow students to learn Sevillanas and castanets together.

  • Note: There is a deliberate overlap between this class and the Level 2 Solea class to allow students to learn Sevillanas and castanets together.
