Meet the Teacher: Bridgette Heap
Bridgette Heap has written and produced over a dozen plays since 2019. This will be her third summer leading a script writing class for teens. Over the past two years, five of Heap’s theater students have completed full theatrical scripts, three of which have already produced their shows, with two upcoming in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.

We will take time this week to focus on song writing with other teens and an experienced song writer! You’ll have the opportunity to put your thoughts, emotions, and perspectives to song by writing lyrics, creating tones, and sharing and receiving feedback. Whether it’s a song, a chorus, or a verse you get excited about by the end of our time together, you’ll be welcomed into an easygoing yet constructive environment along the way.
Class Supplies: Students should have at least one musical instrument they could use to contribute to the creating of music together during this time. Students should come to the workshop with 2-3 topics, life lessons, or Bible verses they'd like to use to begin writing lyrics with.

This project is a character study created using plastic wrap and additive modeling techniques. We will focus on form, expression, and creative storytelling.
Class Supplies: Students should bring reference drawings, written description, and/or photos of the character they hope to make. Students will also need a small "found object" to be part of the sculpture.
Meet the Teacher: Cindy Dalton
Give me a bit of clay or a brush, and I’m right at home. These days, you’ll find me in my home pottery shop or art studio, working in clay, sculpture, and painting—sometimes messy, always fun, and often inspired by the Bible and my Christian faith. Before retiring, I worked as an Interpreter for the Deaf and a Visual Arts teacher. My life was always centered around the classroom, and I’ve carried that love of sharing, learning, and creating with others into everything I do. I’ve shown and sold my work in local galleries, and recently, one of my pieces made the cover of a magazine. I’m married and blessed with five children, their spouses, and twelve grandchildren, all who bring so much joy to my life.

A short musical theater scene will be sung with a performance on the final day of class.
Class Supplies: Please wear comfortable clothes. You are encouraged to bring a recording device for your personal after-class memorization. (This is optional) . You are expected to learn your music between classes.
