2026 Fayette County NAACP Freedom Fund GalaON FIRE FOR JUSTICEWhere Do We Go from Here? The flame of justice has been carried from generation to generation. Now it is our turn to carry it forward.Join the Fayette County Branch of the NAACP for the 2026 Freedom Fund Gala: “On Fire for Justice,” an inspiring evening of music, fellowship, reflection, and renewed commitment to the work of justice and equality. Our theme, “On Fire for Justice,” is more than a statement, it is a call to action. It reflects the passion, courage, and determination required to confront injustice, strengthen our communities, and continue the work of those who came before us. At a time when the work of civil rights remains essential, we gather not only to remember the movement’s history, but to consider our responsibility for its future. The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. with a Music Fellowship, where guests can connect, build relationships, and enjoy the sounds and spirit of Motown. From the beginning of the evening, music will remind us of an era when a soundtrack of soul, hope, and determination accompanied a movement that changed America.Following the Music Fellowship, guests will gather for dinner and fellowship before the start of our Freedom Fund Gala program.Where Do We Go from Here?At the heart of the evening will be our keynote panel discussion, “Where Do We Go from Here?”, inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic speech and book.NAACP Presidents from across Metro Atlanta will come together for a timely conversation about the unfinished work of justice and the road ahead. Drawing inspiration from Dr. King’s enduring question, the discussion will explore the challenges facing our communities, the role of civil rights organizations and community leadership, and what each of us can do to help move the work forward. The question “Where do we go from here?” belongs not only to our panelists. It belongs to all of us.If we are truly On Fire for Justice, how do we turn our passion into purpose? How do we transform concern into action? How do we prepare the next generation to carry the flame?A Celebration with SoulThroughout the evening, the energy and spirit of Motown will help bring our celebration to life. Guests will enjoy a live band and DJ, dancing, dinner, fellowship, and special Motown-themed auction items and experiences.Music has always had the power to bring people together. This evening, it will help us celebrate how far we have come while reminding us that the journey continues. The Freedom Fund Gala is more than an annual fundraiser. It is an opportunity to honor the past, confront the present, and invest in the future. The support generated through this evening helps strengthen the Fayette County NAACP’s continuing work in education, youth leadership, civic engagement, advocacy, and community empowerment. The torch has been passed to us. The question is where we will take it next.Come for the fellowship. Feel the music. Join the conversation. Carry the flame.
